Nokia ‘Illusionist’ 8.3 Inch Tablet Reportedly Cancelled
Nokia emerged on the tablet scene a couple of months ago when it unveiled the much rumored Lumia 2520. The tablet has received good reviews up till now, it packs respectable hardware under the hood and features a solid and sturdy build. Once the Lumia 2520 had been announced, rumors began circulating that Nokia had yet another tablet up its sleeve. It was said to be an 8.3 inch tablet with the codename “Illusionist.” According to unconfirmed reports, the Finnish manufacturer has decided to cancel the tablet

So far there has been no confirmation from Nokia itself, but it didn’t even comment on the “Illusionist” rumors when they first started circulating. It was expected that the 8.3 inch tablet would have specifictions similar to those found on the Lumia 2520, which include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quadcore processor. Other than that, not much has been said or heard about the 8.3 inch tablet Nokia was supposedly working on. The rumor comes from a “reliable source close to Nokia’ who divulged the information to the folks at MyNokiaBlog, who claim that their source is reliable. Consipracy theorists might argue that perhaps Microsoft has a hand in the tablet being cancelled. Even before the Lumia 2520 was released, rumors were circulating that Redmond was leaning on Nokia to give up its tablet plans. Microsoft has purchased Nokia’s devices and services division, tablets come under that division’s domain, the deal has received approval from major regulatory bodies and is expected to be closed in the first quarter of 2014.
