Smartphones are inherently personal devices. They contain some of our deepest and darkest secrets, selfies, and other forms of personal information. Despite this, many of us have absolutely no qualms with handing them over to our buddies—and occasionally, even strangers. Luckily, there are quite a few tools available to specify which applications users have access to, so that your private data remains private.
XDA Forum Member appmobileplus recently created a new per-app locker called Lockdown Pro, and in many ways, it can be seen as the ultimate app locker. In addition to simply requiring either a PIN or pattern unlock for applications of your choosing, you can set pre-defined locations where the phone automatically locks your apps. Lockdown Pro can also simulate an application force close to prevent users from knowing that they were intentionally locked out.
In addition to its impressive features, Lockdown Pro is also quite beautiful. It features a very clean interface in both the setup and lock screen areas. And to make sure that you’re not only happy with functionality but also with aesthetics, appmobileplus also baked in theme support with plenty of nice looking options.
This application is one that should be in everyone’s arsenal if they find themselves lending their phones to friends and family. Head over to the application thread to get started.
