A royal holiday! Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived in the Maldives in the Indian Ocean today, where they embarked upon a weeklong vacation, according to local reports.

The couple reportedly touched down early Thursday via a British Airways flight and are said to be spending their time at a resort in Noonu atoll.

It's unclear if the duo's son Prince George, who turns one in July, accompanied the twosome on their trip. The 7-month-old is expected to travel to New Zealand and Australia with his mom and dad in April, which will mark his first official public appearance since his christening in October.

The Duchess of Cambridge recently took the pair's bundle of joy on his first royal vacation, enjoying a week of R&R on the Caribbean island of Mustique, where they joined the Middletons for their annual family getaway in honor of Kate's mother Carole Middleton's birthday.

People also reports that the pair's trip means a study break for the Duke, who enrolled in the University of Cambridge to complete a 10-week course in agricultural management organized by the Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership in January 2014.

So what's next for the duo after their much-needed holiday?
The royal couple will visit the 1st Battalion Irish Guards at the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 17 at Mons Barracks in Aldershot.

According to a royal press release sent out on Wednesday, the Duke of Cambridge will attend the parade as Colonel of the Regiment while the Duchess of Cambridge will present the traditional sprigs of shamrocks to the Officers and Guardsmen of the Regiment.

And then it's off to Wellington next month, where Prince George will attend an event for new parents and their babies with his mum and dad.

The trip also marks Kate's first visit to Australia and New Zealand, which she'll be flying to with her husband thanks to Queen Elizabeth II, who had to give a special dispensation for the royal couple to travel together.
The duke and duchess decided to bring their little one along on the trip since they didn't want to be away from him for three weeks. (eonline)
